Many people are now taking a break or gap from education or work to explore other cultures and seek new adventures!

 

In addition students are away from home for the first time in Universities and Colleges, some distance from home.

 

Within an increasingly problematic World people need to be adaptable to their different environment.

This course prepares the student or traveller with a variety of skills in order for them to be more confident in facing the challenges before them!

By the end of the course participants will be able:

 

  • To apply Emergency First Aid
  • To apply CPR
  • To understand personal safety in a variety of settings
  • To recognise body language type
  • To demonstrate a range of de-escalation techniques
  • To perform a number of basic ‘breakaway’ (defence) techniques

 

COURSE CONTENT

 

  • Emergency first aid and CPR (including bleeding ,choking, bandaging and recovery)
  • Travel safety (including safe practice on public transport and car travel, luggage and baggage, wallets, personal items, documentation and ID)
  • Inter personal skills (including body language and what it says, awareness and observation skills)
  • De-escalation (problem prevention) and physical breakaway techniques.
